Weller Designs have been commissioned by the Rose Bowl to create an eighteen-hole championship golf course that would be commensurate with their exciting plans to develop a five star destination hotel within the international cricket ground.
The new golf course forms a key element of what is an innovative development plan. The hotel will become an integral part of the stadium itself: rooms on the inside will have views directly on to one of the finest cricket arenas in the country whilst rooms on the outside will have views onto a beautiful and dramatic golfing landscape including a large man-made lake and island green.

The key to the scheme was the gaining of planning permission for the importation of a considerable quantity of recovered inert soil. This will enable the Rose Bowl not only to create a high quality golf course, but to have it financed at no cost.
The course itself will be a fascinating combination of regenerated heathland to the south, mature oak parkland in the central section and a more formal styling to the north to complement the state-of-the-art international stadium with its iconic pavilion and hotel.
