Self-Funding / Subsidised Developments

In response to a decision by the Government and Environment Agency to transform the wasteful and unsustainable disposal at landfill sites of reusable subsoils and topsoils generated by excavations for buildings, roads and landscape works, the Environment Agency created a permitting regime whereby soil re-used at certain 'engineered schemes' including leisure, sports, parks and agricultural restoration, would not be subject to landfill tax.

The permitting regimes are numerous and quite involved but essentially there is an opportunity to considerably off set or cover the cost of sports and leisure based schemes by commanding a royalty for allowing the soil hauliers to deposit their soil at an approved site. This royalty varies from project to project and each scheme has its own planning and Environment Agency requirements.

Sports Pitch Design Build have all the in house experience required to advise on the potential of such a scheme and successfully work  with  numerous clients, including schools and local authorities, to realise their potential to offer new or improved sports facilities,  where previously, either because of cost or for site restrictions (ie: sloping land) sports development had been considered impractical.
